My name is Barry Laughton Jr. and I would like to announce early that I will be running for City Counsel in ward 1 in Laconia NH. This may come as a surprise to many due to my dreadful loss to become a member of the School Board however I am not going to let that campaign stop me. I am starting fresh with a bold new campaign the likes of which you have not seen from me before. I am starting with a new look, a new attitude, and the same passion for people that I have always had. Let me tell you the reasons that I have decided to run this time. I remember when I ran for counsel against Henry Lipman I looked across the debate table and I heard Mr. Fitzgerald make promise after promise and never have I seen or heard one of those come to pass. They were only empty and / or broken promises and I know that when I make a promise I hold myself to the highest standard to make good on that promise. I also didn't like when I heard that Mr. Fitzgerald thinks that it is OK to double dip off the Taxpayers let me give you an example of that Mr. Fitzgerald gets compensated financially to be a City Counselor and he plans to assist in the plumbing work on the MMS project as he is a professional plumber and for that he will be paid by the taxpayers and that is not fair. Though I am announcing my candidacy early I feel it is best due to the time constraint in the height of the political season in Laconia.
